Government grant & self-financing

Danish Micro Combined Heat and Power enjoys a broad political backing that has resulted in governmental financial assistance for the project.

In 2007, The Danish Energy Agency handled Danish Micro Combined Heat and Power's application for financial assistance from The Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy. The application resulted in a grant of DKK 50 million. The grant is particularly linked to Danish Micro Combined Heat and Power's demonstrations of micro combined heat and power units at the homes of consumers in Lolland, Varde, and Sønderborg Municipalities. Danish Micro Combined Heat and Power has also received support from Energinet.dk.

Apart from this, the consortium's companies themselves are covering the remaining financing and are contributing around DKK 100 million in this respect. This self-financing bears witness to the fact that the consortium's eight companies consider Danish Micro Combined Heat and Power to be a good investment in the long term.

The consortium is also considering applying for additional external financial assistance to support the last of the project's three phases.
